Psychologist prescriptive authority. |

FISCAL NOTE
According to the Board of Pharmacy, psychologists seeking prescriptive authority will request authority to prescribe controlled substances. The Wyoming Controlled Substance Act requires registration of any practitioner seeking authority to prescribe, dispense, or administer controlled substances. The current registration fee is $25 per year.
The Board of Pharmacy anticipates unknown costs (expected to be low and primarily to cover travel costs) to work with the Board of Psychology to develop a drug formulary of commonly used drugs for the treatment of mental and emotional disorders for use by psychologists with prescriptive authority as outlined in the legislation.
This bill has administrative impact that appears to increase (or decrease) duties or responsibilities of one or more state agencies and may impact agency spending or staffing requirements. As introduced, the bill does not modify any state agency budget or current personnel authorizations.
