Source of revenue increase:

$50 license fee for each rental car company operating in Wyoming and a $10 license fee for one individual at each rental car location in Wyoming. These fees would be charged annually.

Assumptions:

The Department does not have specific information regarding the number of rental car companies operating in Wyoming or the actual number of rental car business locations in Wyoming. Therefore, the above revenue increases are based upon an estimate of the number of companies and locales in Wyoming. After reviewing phone book listings for car rental locations and companies in Cheyenne, Casper and Jackson, and after adding estimated additional locales for other parts of the state, the Department estimates forty (40) locales and ten (10) rental companies operating in Wyoming. Even if there are more companies or locations in Wyoming, the impact of these licensing fees is minimal to the general fund.
