Source of revenue increase:

 

License fees outlined in the proposed legislation.  Each pool or spa in Wyoming will be required to pay an annual license fee of $50.  Of these 500 pools, the majority are already licensed and will not need to pay an initial license fee of $100.  The fees collected will be used to defray the costs of the program, as proposed in the legislation. 

 

Assumptions:

 

There are approximately 500 pools and spas in the state.  Of the 500 pools and spas, 250 are under the oversight of the state, while the remainder is under the authority of local health departments.

 

Based on the percentages for distribution of the fees listed in the legislation, the Department of Agriculture will receive $12,500 of the fees; the Department of Health will receive $1,875; and local health departments will receive $10,625.

 

This bill has administrative impact that appears to increase (or decrease) duties or responsibilities of one or more state agencies and may impact agency spending or staffing requirements.  The following state agencies may be affected administratively:
