The fiscal impact is indeterminable.

 

 

There are fourteen regional programs contracted by Department of Health with approximately 539 total employees. These entities are private non-profit organizations ranging from approximately 11 to 45 employees.  These entities are currently eligible for insurance coverage in the private sector via small group insurance reform legislation.

 

This bill would make employees of these entities eligible to participate in the State Employees Group Insurance program. This bill does not provide authority to the Group Insurance program to establish specific eligibility requirements for these entities.

 

The number of potential new participants who would enroll from these entities is unknown. The claims history of potential new participants, and the medical utilization of this group of employees are also unknown. Therefore, the fiscal impact is indeterminable.
