Page 1-line 3                                          After "definition;" insert "specifying legislative intent;".

Page 2-lines 7 through 14                   Delete entirely and insert:

"(iii)  Outside the corporate limits of the municipality in which the peace officer is employed, when in fresh pursuit of an individual.  For purposes of this paragraph, "fresh pursuit" means pursuit without unnecessary delay and initiated within the corporate limits of the municipality for violation of a municipal ordinance or state law committed in view of the peace officer.".

Page 2-after line 14                               Insert:

"Section 2.  The common law doctrine of fresh pursuit is intended to continue as it existed prior to the effective date of this act, except as specifically modified by this act.".

Page 2-line 16                                        Delete "Section 2" insert "Section 3".  SIMPSON, CHAIRMAN
